Educational Support Program
Partner with local schools to provide textbooks, learning materials, and scholarships to students in need across multiple regions.
Education is the most reliable path out of poverty — yet for many children in Nigeria's underserved communities, that path is blocked by costs that their families simply cannot meet. School fees, the price of textbooks, and the loss of a child's contribution to household income combine to push millions of children out of the classroom each year.
IRM's Educational Support Program began in January 2026 as an ongoing initiative across three partner schools in the FCT. In its first phase, IRM distributed full textbook sets to 320 students, provided supplementary learning kits including exercise books, pencils, and geometry sets, and established a scholarship fund covering term fees for 130 students identified by teachers as being at high dropout risk.
The program is designed to grow. IRM is currently in discussion with four additional schools and is developing a mentorship strand that will connect sponsored students with Nigerian diaspora professionals for career guidance. Donors who give to this program are directly funding a named student's continued education.
