Medical Outreach in Lagos
Provided free medical consultations, medications, and health screenings to over 2,000 residents in underserved communities across Lagos State.
Access to basic healthcare remains one of the most pressing challenges facing communities in Lagos State. High consultation costs, overcrowded public facilities, and a shortage of primary care providers leave thousands of families without reliable medical attention — particularly in the city's peripheral neighborhoods.
IRM's medical outreach addressed this gap directly. Over two intensive days in November 2025, a team of volunteer physicians, nurses, and pharmacists set up mobile clinics across four community locations. Services included blood pressure screenings, diabetes checks, malaria testing, eye examinations, and the distribution of over 3,500 medication packages at no cost to recipients.
The mission reinforced IRM's conviction that healthcare is a human right, not a privilege. Plans are underway to return to the same communities in 2026 with an expanded team and a focus on maternal and child health — areas identified by community leaders as the most urgent unmet need.
